Yep, that’s pretty much what I thought in August of 2017 when I first started seeing “Chalk Couture” sponsored posts show up in my feed. I mean, I’m a crafter, I don’t want to just decorate chalkboards!?? Right?? …..Well when I actually took a minute to watch one of the ads, I kind of fell in love with the idea – you get amazing, custom pieces without having to deal with vinyl, or paint/stencils, or iron-ons…the list really goes on and on.
Could I have actually found a way to CHEAT the system and get REALLY cute custom decor items/gifts super fast??
You know what? I DID! My 4yr old daughter and I sat and watched YouTube video after YouTube video of crafters literally just banging out the cutest things on the planet and of course my head starts swirling with ideas (like I know yours probably has) and it was off to the races for me! I placed an order for 2 chalk pastes, a transfer (chosen by my daughter), and a small squeegee.

The day our first order arrived, you would have thought it was Christmas for my daughter (all right, well maybe not CHRISTMAS – but some other really exciting day!). We quickly got to work on a chalkboard that I picked up a local craft store.
I was well-educated at this point (you know, the YouTube and all) so I laid the transfer down, scooped some chalk paste onto the squeegee and expertly swiped it across. I pulled up the transfer and …… Oh.The.Beauty! My daughter was DYING to try (which I begrudgingly)…eh…I mean happily let her do and guess what – with only MINIMAL help (like just getting the corners), she was also able to create a beautiful image.

EASY. FUN. FABULOUS.
I now have a stockpile of items that I am going to “chalk” (that’s the term the cool kids use) just as soon as my starter kits arrives! Oh, did I forget to mention that?? Yeah, of course I signed up…1). I am a “joiner” by nature 2). The discount is ridiculously awesome 3). I am obsessed with these products-they speak to my soul.
So of course I have BIG plans, I am a blue-skies thinker (that’s corporate america coming out in me). I would love y’all to support me and cheer me on in this journey – and maybe we can even chalk together!
Much love! Kim
